Having a Dog in Your Life

You might not be aware of it but to own a dog means to be responsible for its care, and the more you provide this care the more benefit you get. Looking for a good dog companion will depend on the individual. Every person is unique and has different needs and desire. This is also true for every dog breed you can find. In different stories we read how the many dog breeds came about but what we know now is that these different breeds have their specific purpose which are being used all over the world. There are two uses for dogs that we can see and one of them is to help the man in work or doing certain tasks, and the other is simply to be a companion or pet.

Both utilities though includes companionship, one as an alliance while the other as a social affiliation. Dogs can be relied upon as a companion and because of this they are said to enter with a relationship with their human where there is a give and take connection. Real bonding with a dog makes the owner gain many benefits from it. Because companionship with a dog carries a positional attitude, it means that it will help you develop a strong sense of calling to be in-charge. And when you are in-charge, you are responsible for its well-being. You feed him when he is hungry. When it want to relieve, you bring it out. When it becomes restless, you exercise it. You bring him to the vet when he is experiencing health issues. But you gain a lot in return like his loyalty, devotion and trust but these you are not entitled to these things if you don’t care for your dog. You can see many dog owners today who treat their dogs as human and they have a relationship that can be compared with what one has with his best friend.

Training your dog is one of the most neglected area when it comes to caring for them. Dogs are not like humans, they don’t think like us, but what they do is to respond to patterns that we show them and they are very sensitive to these cues that is why most people think that they have cognitive abilities. You should not therefore train a dog like you would train a child.

The reason why you need to train them though offers several benefits. Training can save a dog’s life. If you always train them with commands, you will have voice control over your dog. A dog’s life can be spared by the ability of the owner to get the dog back with voice commands. Bringing a dog trained in manners is a delight and there will be no occasion for embarrassment or injury. Training allows you to understand them better.
